Sourced from selected blocks in the sunny Hawke's Bay. After a particularly dry winter, Hawke's Bay experienced fine, warm and dry weather, ideal for balanced vine growth and fruit development. February was exceptional, warm and fine weather persisted well into early Autumn allowing the luxury of picking at optimal maturity. Each parcel was fermented using traditional Bordeaux methods. The wine was matured in a blend of French oak barrels, from new to 3 years old. This wine can be enjoyed now but will develop more complexity with careful cellaring.
This Merlot Cabernet offers dark bright berry fruit, and soft tannins, with a complexity from partial barrel fermentation and savoury from high toast barrels.
